The representatives from both Nordic Ways and Vasaloppet Museum in Changchun, China paid a visit last Tuesday on Oct.12th to “The Dalarna Idrottsmuseum”– a regional sport museum of Falun, Dalarna in order to see whether the museum can donate some relevant ski equipments to Vasaloppet Museum Changchun, which will officially have its opening ceremony on Jan.2nd, 2011.
After a guided tour and friendly conversation, the Dalarna Idrottsmuseum counterparts have agreed on trying to find some older models of skies, poles, ski boots and clothes and send them to Changchun.
This meeting has led to an interview from Radio Dalarna, one of the local radio stations the same week, through which both Mr. Daniels Sven Olsson, the museum chairman of the board and Mr. Gavert Waag, founder and honorary president of Nordic Ways have declared which kind of equipment the Chinese museum are collecting to be able to show the history of Vasaloppet and the development of cross country ski.
We are sincerely welcome anyone who can provide this relevant equipment for Vasaloppet Museum. Please contact:
