Zhang Xinyun, sports commentator of Jilin Radio and Television Station, started to report and commentate the 8th National Winter Games in 1995, he has become one of the few sports commentators who can explain both winter and summer sports. Since the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in 2002, Zhang Xinyun entered the Winter Olympics commentary work.

In 2022, Zhang Xinyun was invited to join the Beijing Winter Olympics commentary team. During the period, he commentated the three major events of curling, cross-country skiing and freestyle skiing. He had the honor to commentate and witness the birth of two gold medals of the Chinese freestyle skiing aerials team.

In addition to the daily winter cross-country skiing training, Zhang Xinyun also signed up for the Vasaloppet China long distance competition. In 2023, Mr. Zhang was invited to participate in the commentary of Vasaloppet China. He will continue to serve as the commentator of Vasaloppet China 2024.

Kris Van de Velde, Belgium, Race Director, Event Designer & International Promoter. He is the English commentator of Vasaloppet China 2024. Kris speaks 6 languages (English, French, German, Dutch, Italian and Mandarin Chinese) and is currently studying Bahasa Indonesia as well.

In 2010 he moved to China and has since studied mandarin and worked in Dalian, Changchun and Beijing. Kris joined the Swedish/Chinese event management Nordic Ways in the summer of 2011 and became Race Director and Promotional Manager of, amongst others, the Genghis Khan MTB Adventure & Grassland Marathon in Inner Mongolia. Three years later, he also became the race director of the Colorful Yunnan Granfondo, one of the largest sports tourism events in China, and participated in the commentary work of the event many times.

Kris aims to develop high-quality sports events that foster a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle. He is full of expectations for Vasaloppet China 2024 and hopes to share the charm of Vasaloppet with more skiers.
