In the year of 2003, the Vasaloppet, with more than 80-year history back in its homeland, Sweden, settled in Changchun Jingyuetan, China. Vasaloppet China is an international cross-county ski event, combined with sport, tourism, culture, economy and trade. The theme of Vasaloppet china is “Passionate Vasa, Charming Jingyue”.
With the past 12 years, Vasa cross country running festival,Vasa biking festival, two international tourism activities officially settled in changchun Jingyue Tan park，undertaking by Jingyue Economy Development Zone and Nordic Ways.
June of 2014, with FIS invitation， Changchun Municipal delegation go for worldloppet Annual General Meeting and submit a formal application to join Worldloppet at Riva del Garda, Italy. After 16 member countries finish their vote, Vasaloppet China officially joins Worldloppet ski federation which is the first class international sports federation of cross-country skiing marathons, becoming the second Worldloppet member country in Asia. China is the only one passed unanimously. At present, as the first important one tourism-culture activity for every new Year, Vasaloppet China was world widely known as Changchun Ice-snow tourism business and city name card.
Now Nordic Ways having the next 5 years around event agreement with Changchun Municipal Government and Jingyue Economy Development Zone，focusing on XC skiing（www.vasaloppetchina.com），Vasa Moon lake biking festival（www.vatternchina.com），Changchun Vasa forest Marathon（www.vasarun.com）
