The 12th Vasaloppet China was conducted under very good conditions. -10 Degree and sunshine and nearly any wind. A well-groomed track made its to the contest was a success.
15 km course was run 3 laps, a total of 45 km. In class elite men we found last years winner Anders Högberg, the question was in which form he was. There was no doubt about it, Anders was the lead peloton after the first lap and then he showed who was the strongest. In splendid isolation, he passed the finish line with his fourth victory in Vasaloppet China. Congratulations Anders! 33.8 seconds after Anders came Adam Steen, who was 3 minutes and 50 seconds ahead of Bob Niemi-Impola. All three are from Sweden.
Women elite 45 km was a fight between China, Sweden and Norway. The Chinese Qinghua Ma won convincingly, she was 2.19 ahead of second placed, yesterday sprint winner Astrid Bruland.
In third place Chinese, Shuang Chen.
